Steve Gorny Wins Volunteer Service Award
The Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys is proud to have a charitable arm referred to as Missouri Trial Lawyers Care or MO-TLC. This organization raises money each year at MATA’s annual convention. With the funds raised, MO-TLC is able to assist organizations such as Harvesters, Mothers Against Drunk Driving, Coats for Kids, and similar outlets who provide valuable services for those in need in Missouri. Steve was a member of MO-TLC for more years than anyone in the organization can remember. He had the privilege of chairing MO-TLC over the last three years. As he became president of the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys last week, the incoming chairmen of MO-TLC bestowed upon Steve its Volunteer Service Award. He is appreciative of the award, but truly felt that he had gained more than he gave by serving as chair of the organization. This marks the second time MO-TLC bestowed upon Steve its Volunteer Service Award. He previously was recognized in 2012 after running entirely across the state of Kansas while raising $88,000 for The Michael J. Fox Foundation in honor of his father who had Parkinson’s Disease.
